Eagle Mountain City uses water sourced from Central Utah Water Conservancy District solely during the winter months. Water from CUWCD contains a low TDS. Maintenance was scheduled on Feb. 27. Typically at this point, Eagle Mountain City would switch to Well #1. Unfortunately, this well is offline due to maintenance. With Well #1 down for maintenance, the City’s Water department had to switch to Well #5. Well #5 has a relatively higher TDS, which is the reason why some may notice a different flavor profile. Well #5 meets state standards following a recent TDS test. As a result, the decision was made to bring Well #3 into the system to help with the aesthetics of Eagle Mountain’s water. Both are currently in use and are being blended. The City anticipates receiving water from CUWCD right around March 20 to fulfill our contract. At this point, the City will reduce the other two wells. Once irrigation season starts, all sources will be utilized.
The Eagle Mountain Water Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City’s water system. Our water department ensures the quality and safety of the city’s water by performing daily chlorination sampling, daily well inspections, weekly bacteria sampling, and other sampling required by the state.
