Building a safer community through emergency preparedness and providing a coordinated response to natural disasters or public safety crises.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to learn valuable basic skills used during disaster response. Some of the skills include fire safety, light search & rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. By using the training learned through CERT, new members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
CERT Training is now available online. Hands-on training for 2023 is scheduled for February 4th & 11th from 8:00am-2:00pm. Registration is required as space is limited.
The Eagle Mountain City Amateur Radio Team welcomes amateur radio operators as well as communication, electronics, hardware, and software enthusiasts.
The City offers classes quarterly for free. The FCC exam fee is $35. Due to the current pandemic, in-person classes are being postponed. However, testing is still being held social distance style! To receive details and register, send an email to Ki6oss6365@gmail.com. We recommend going through the flash cards and practice tests at www.hamstudy.org. The questions are identical to what you will see on the actual exam.
