Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to learn valuable basic skills used during disaster response. Some of the skills include fire safety, light search & rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. By using the training learned through CERT, new members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

CERT Training, offered by Unified Fire Authority in Eagle Mountain, is now available online.  The next Hands-on Training will take place at City Hall on Saturday, April, 25, 2020 from 8:30am-2:00pm.

HAM Radio Team

The Eagle Mountain City Amateur Radio Team welcomes amateur radio operators as well as communication, electronics, hardware, and software enthusiasts.

Amateur Radio (HAM Radio) Classes

The City offers classes quarterly for free and the test is $14. Classes are held Thursday nights for four weeks from 7 PM – 9 PM. Each class is two hours long. The next class will start May 14th, 2020. The exam will take place on June 18th, 2020.  Contact Jeff Weber if you have any questions.  For those wanting to get some studying in ahead of time, we recommend going through the flash cards and practice tests at www.hamstudy.org. The questions are identical to what you will see on the actual exam. To receive details and register, send an email to Ki6oss6365@gmail.com.

A Ham Radio license class is also held monthly in Provo on the BYU campus. The class is for the Technician (entry level) license. The classes take place on a Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exam will follow the lecture. The class is free and the test fee is $14. To sign up, send an email to nv7v@nv7v.org.  Their next class and exam will take place on March 21st, 2020.
