The Unified Fire Authority and the Eagle Mountain City Streets Department have announced plans for a controlled burn on Monday, March 11.

The burn is aimed at disposing tumbleweeds along Eagle Mountain Blvd. in the area of Carriage Hill Dr. This scheduled burn is set to begin at 10 a.m., and will continue until 5 p.m.

Eagle Mountain residents may notice smoke in the area during that time. As a result, motorists in the vicinity are advised to exercise caution during the burn.

The controlled burn follows the Saturday, March 2windstorm that saw certain neighborhoods inundated with thousands of tumbleweeds.

This controlled burn is a strategic effort to manage the accumulation of tumbleweeds and reduce potential fire hazards.
