Road Work - Lane Closure and Shift near Hidden Hollow Elementary
The road widening project on Pony Express Pkwy at the intersection of Hidden Valley Parkway (Hidden Hollow Elementary entrance) will continue construction for an estimated two additional weeks. With Back to School Night tonight at Hidden Hollow (4-6 p.m.) and Frontier Middle School (3-7 p.m.) we ask that City Center residents use Eagle Mountain Blvd for the evening commute to help alleviate congestion through the area.
With school starting on Monday, August 20, temporary school crossings have been established as outlined in the attached map. Please note that some sections of the trail through the work zone are not accessible to pedestrians so it is important for children to use the temporary crossings as outlined. Please use extreme caution when traveling through this area and be on the lookout for pedestrians.
The City had hoped this project would be completed prior to the start of school, however, as is common with construction there are variables that can cause delays. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Starting August 8 a lane closure and lane shift will be implemented as part of the Pony Express Pkwy widening project in the area of Hidden Hollow Elementary. Work hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with these lane adjustments in effect for about two weeks. The contractor will be working weekends in an effort to complete this section before school starts on August 20. The City has also asked the contractor to provide left turn access if possible for Back to School Night on August 16.
Please review the following maps for more detail on the traffic control plan.
